Texture was an important element of many of the lighting designs featured in the Lighten Up exhibit. Re-silicone's Lagoon, a thick, chunky snake of ambient lighting was a good example of this. Vamped used colourful, glossy plastic off-cuts for Hula and the Higher Market Studio invested in cast-off jumper sleeves. Hasta la Pasta by Charlie Davidson Studio was the starchiest lighting on site, and Swarth by Re:think Things was a mass of aluminium shavings. Beryl and Friends by Wemake was a series of discarded lamps shrink-wrapped into new life. Also after the jump are designs by Alanna Cochrane and Julia Lohmann.
