Week-in-a-minute: My Table, Water Wood, Tobi's Mom
by the editors / July 25, 2008

Tiina Hakala took the time to think about how we misuse tables and created an elegant system we want to use. The subtle undulations of Undustrial's Water Wood calmed us as did i29's spare use of wood. We closed the 100% Design Shanghai journal with Tobi's mom, with whom we agree, China, keep and celebrate culture!

The Week-in-a-minute:

+ Keep clutter off My Table
+ 100% Design Shanghai: Closing-Night Dinner

+ Fresh MoCo : a polar bear (rug) in sheep’s clothing
+ New work from Portananos, EcoCentric, Arash & Kelly, Andrew Aloisio, Undustrial Millworks and Dima Loginoff
+ Amsterdam living with i29
+ Prefab cabin built in 3 months
+ Villa Peet: going down the rabbit hole
+ Jonathan Trotter's ceramic seating
+ This Week from Tokyo
+ Cressida Payavis and the mag that becomes a journal
+ Another look at Neri & Hu

Above: Joey Roth is introducing new finishes to the stainless steel Sorapot, starting with this mirror surface. Neither chrome nor nickel-plated, the Sorapot’s stainless steel surface has been polished to a super high sheen.

That teapot is gorgeous! I hope he comes out with other finishes (powder-coating would be so nice)
