The first prefab cabin by Seattle-based Method Homes (completed in 3 months) is based on a flexible template that allows for a full range of customization. The cabin can be one or two storeys and vary from 800 to over 2000 square feet. This design by Balance Associates has been conceived for sustainability and energy efficiency, and includes FSC certified framing materials, reclaimed fir and cedar siding, energy-efficient lighting and plumbing fixtures, hydronic radiant heating, whole-house ventilation systems, solar options and enhanced insulation applications.

Method Homes has read my mind. I've been wishing for a prefabricated, sustainable home forever. If it were available with solar panels (as roofing) and wind power, then it would be perfection.
