Artware Editions is a New York company that specializes in functional furniture and objects that are designed by some of today's top artists, with spectacular results. Excellent examples of the type of work to be found at Artware Editions are the 110 cast chukar skulls plated in 14k gold that make up the Chukar Chandelier by Yeni Mao. (The chukar is a small bird in Pakistan.) Another bird-themed piece by the same artist is the Siamese Bird vase, a headless little number that is endearing all the same. And the Chrissy Homeland Security Blanket by Chrissy Conant is an appropriate reflection of the times. Shown above is the Tischleindeckdisch by Markus Linnenbrink, the table that sets itself.
