ICFF 2008: Wry & Ginger
by sabine7 / May 22, 2008

Azure magazine curated an exhibition of Canadian design called Wry & Ginger (not that many non-Canadians picked up on the rye’n’ginger reference) at the Meatpacking District’s Design Within Reach during ICFF. The selection of Canadiana Reivented included work in the window by Covello Reesor, Cynthia Hathaway, Thout, Douglas Coupland and the traditional snowshoe weaving techniques used in the Babiche stool by Samare. The In the Round felt chair by Luflic that debuted at IDS08 was there, along with the Camila chair by Matthew Kroeker and great pieces by Garth Roberts and Jennifer Graham. The Brothers Dressler showed off their shoe lasts and Castor reminded us of beaver power.
