aquaovo's OVOPUR is the environmentally friendly water dispenser. So much so that 1) it doesn't consume any electricity, using gravity instead to filter and revitalize tapwater, 2) the unit itself is made of porcelain, glass, and metal, and 3) it features a reusable, multilayer filter cartridge whose contents are 100% recyclable. The main reservoir can hold up to 11 liters of fresh water, with the water level indicated by the magnetic gauge. The filter cartridge uses a combination of KDF 55, activated carbon, microporous bioceramics and quartz crystal to remove impurities from the water.

And it looks like the giant abdomen of an ant, wow, I think this is a perfect example of designing something that works well and is cradle to cradle in it's thought, but still looks undesirable. No let's kick it over to a few designers and maybe it can come out looking a lil sweeter.
I followed the link to find the price... no price... why do I have the feeling that I could buy a well for a village in Africa for less than the cost of one of these!
Does anybody know how much, these admittedly beautiful creations, are?
I followed the other link and found out that you could many many wells in Africa and help many people..... Great idea but I afford $550. just for the holder.... why do do this to people come out with a great item then want such a price ?? Makes me made of the greed out there .....
Why does it cost so much?? Enlighten me please..
Just buy the 59.00 replacement cartridge and make your own container.
