Around the Corner is the name of an exhibition of four pieces of furniture by architect Amanda Levete of Future Systems for Established & Sons. These pieces focus on how to make use of the corner of a room and are sexy, intelligent designs that are very organic and fluid. Levete looks at the relationship between space and object, and each piece is named after a point on the compass. North is a fibreglass shelf and South is set of two Corian shelves. East is a marble table/desk and West a wooden bench.

South.

East.

West.

flamboyant shape and tech, no meaningful content. A show off for rich people to buy in a design gallery. boring.
under cut, my neighbor here at the office suggests that meaningful content is what you put on the shelf. ;)
Amanda Levete is brilliant and her use of the corner and these forms is not just thinking outside the box, she is talking about different areas to place the box, I love her work, genius!
West looks very similar to Brodie Neill's E-turn

I second the Brodie Neil comment, as brilliant as Amanda Levete may be, in this case, it's been done before.
i believe this style/idea came from the chandelier done by future systems in 2006 for swarovski. probably during same time or earlier than brodie's stuff check it out here please
