An exhibit within IMM was the Design Deutschland Case Study, a cross section of German design, both classic and contemporary, based on the notions of material, position, function, system and tool. The focus is on the links between diverse products, whether in material, technology used or purpose. Organised by the German Design Council, Design Deutschland is an attempt to examine the essence of German design by using a variety of examples. The exhibit was made up of a number of booths that highlighted design suited for different areas of daily life.
