Touch: Mana
by sabine7 / January 23, 2008

Mana Bernandes is the jewellery designer behind the Mana line included in the TOUCH on-line gallery. Bernandes is an artist and designer who brings new meaning to the term creative re-use, finding the idea of luxury in mundane household objects like toothpicks and hairclips or cutting pieces out of used phone cards and PET bottles to be used as discs for her jewellery. Bernandes works within the community to teach teens and students how to craft with common materials.

i love it when everyday items go to use for something entirely different from their intended use. what great inspiration.

the bobby pin necklace is so clever, especially for a hairdresser to wear.

the needle fan with pearls on the end would be so dangerous. both ends can puncture your neck.
