Estúdio Manus is also part of TOUCH and based in São Paulo. The team of Caio de Medeiros Filho and Daniela Scorza works in the fields of architecture, product design and art, but these porcelain pieces of tableware are the focus here. Estúdio Manus seeks to embody memories and travel experiences, relying on inspiration from craftsmanship and folklore to permeate their designs with function as well as whimsy. The winged cups must make every sip even tastier, and the emerging Buddhas add interest to an ordinary motion.

Buddha Tea Cup.

Alada Bowl.

The design of the cup is a rip off of a Finnish designer Sami Rinne, who made it a personal trademark a long time ago. Have a look http://www.samirinne.fi
Pao, yep, they look alike. Was it a rip off? Perhaps, perhaps not. Estúdio Manus is on the other side of the planet. Is it possible that two designers, independent of each other, can create something similar? Yes, I've seen it often, I've spoken with some of the designers, and almost every time it clearly isn't deliberate. Since I began this blog most of the designers I've met have demonstrated a very high level of integrity. I trust that in this instance the similarity is coincidental.
Harry is quite right.
Sometimes designs are both similar, simultaneous, honestly independent and without knowledge of each other.
