When I first flipped through this book I thought it was about cabins in Scandinavia, I hadn't bothered with the rest of the title; New Designs on the Canadian Landscape. What most impressed me was that Canada could be the origin of so many relatively small, contemporary designs. Says the description, "Given the dramatic backdrop of the Canadian landscape, it's no wonder these places of retreat hold a deep, even mythical, place in the national psyche." - I can vouch for that having enjoyed various country places and camps since childhood. For the record this is mostly a picture book with no plans and or discussion of process. Softcover, 120 pages, well illustrated, $29.95 at Amazon.

Feels a lot like the Cabin Exhibition from a few years back...
