From Design Glut: "When and if crude hits $100/barrel, Design Glut will produce 100 limited edition Crude Necklaces with a high gloss black surface finish. The pieces can be seen a symbol of mourning for the fossil fuel era. (…) Design Glut‘s aim with the limited-edition release is to create a historical marker, in hopes that one day, when you are charging your electric car with your children, you can say, 'I remember when crude hit $100.' " A sure sign of the times. The necklace will be available in brass or gold. Also available are necklaces, bracelets and rings in the regular finish.

From CNN, Nov. 21: "Light, sweet crude for January delivery rose as high as $99.29 a barrel in electronic trading after the New York Mercantile Exchange closed, breaking the previous intraday record of $98.62 set last week."
