Extensions
by Harry / November 25, 2007

My ongoing fascination with home additions is well served this week by author Adam Mornement’s new book Extensions. Featuring 40 projects from around the world, the chapters are organized by which way the extensions protrude; spaces up, down, to the rear, to the side, on the roof, internally and outdoors. Each project includes the requisite case study that “how the architects faced design challenges while at the same time meeting their clients needs. Details covered include choice of materials, planning issues, time and cost.”. Not necessarily in that order I’m sure. Some of the featured architects; Pugh + Scarpa, Eldridge Smerin, Rojkind Arquitectos and Studio Aisslinger. Hardcover, 256 pages, well illustrated (the Amazon listing has Search Inside), $26.40 at Amazon.
