Wendell Castle has some recent designs in the upcoming Not Furniture: XXI Design show that opens this Friday at Hedge in San Francisco. The show features eight designers whose vision of furniture design blurs all boundaries between art and design. Castle’s work includes the gilded fibreglass Triad chair as well as this year’s Triad table. The stained walnut Bud and Buddy will be there, as will the 2007 stainless steel chaise Night on Earth. Interesting how he worked plastic in the 60's, then and still wood now some stainless steel.
That chaise has a bit of Marc Newson, wouldn't you say.
