This one is for the architects (and armchair architects). Detail is full of details, specifically, plans and images of every floor, section and elevation for more than 50 contemporary homes built between 2000 and 2005. The list of architects is stellar and reads like a who's who of residential architecture today; Tadao Ando, Shigeru Ban, David Adjaye, John Pawson, Patkau Architects,... and the houses are all as big as the architects. This week's book choice is via architecture blog Archidose, who says, and I agree, "The extra effort required to create consistent drawings pays off in the form of having a solid reference, rather than just a hurried and inexpensive collection of what's cool now.". So if it's architectural detail you want in the form of plans, or images of interiors and exteriors, this is the book. An included CD even features real construction drawings (.dwg and .eps). Hardcover, 240 pages, 600 illustrations, CD-ROM included, $31.50 at Amazon.

Oh wow... I need this book!
