Designboom curated an exhibition of ceramics called Handled With Care during the London Design Festival, featuring over 500 pieces by 63 designers from 35 countries. We can’t show all here, but we do want to highlight a few, like the Topoware place setting by Alexandra Deschamps-Sonsino and Karola Torkos and the Bikini Vase by Michal Pickelsagi and Tami Pampanel. We take a look at the Sushi Time by MINT Inc. and the Adam & Eve vase by Nathalie Schaap, which also function as bookends. The Light’s Drawing place setting by Sandra Bautista captures shadows and Lynn Kingelin's porcelain Fireplace Jacks are alternative gas fireplace accessories. There were great Pretty Ugly graffiti cups and saucers by We Love Kaoru, a well as an item we liked, but now cannot identify. (Aha! It is by Martina Von Meyerburg) Larger images after the jump.

Martina Von Meyenburg

Nice and cool tableware. Wish I could use them for my cooking and dinner receptions! Thanks for posting these newbies.
About Martina von Meyenburg's design work: fresh, brash, cool and somewhat innocent; just the best, like the author; a privileged mind. You couldn't expect less form her. Be aware of the evolution and bright future of this extraordinary talented, invaluable and awfully dedicated artist.
