Krejci
by sabine7 / September 17, 2007

Another designer showing at Maison & Objet is Doreen Westphal of Krejci who is exhibiting her collection of bags made of used bicycle inner tubes and felt. Tvar is a great messenger bag and after the jump we have Noor, the handbag and Ukol, which works as a backpack. Bin is exactly what it says it is, but more stylish than most. Krejci’s blogspot shares some great photos of the work being done in Warsaw by ladies on sewing machines who probably never dreamed they’d be using their talents on such a material. Another resource that Krejci uses is an atypical design material: the used airbed.

Very nice! I have seen quite a few objects made from recycled bike tubes, but these are the best looking by far.
