DESIGN

Who needs the Milan Furniture Fair when you've got Limn, a 46,000+ sq. ft contemporary design showroom that houses over 2,000 vendors including B&B Italia, Cassina, De La Espada, and Cappellini. Other crowd favorites are Droog and Citizen Citizen. My favorite part of Limn is its unassuming exterior. You'd never know what was inside just by looking at the outside. Also make sure to go to the rooftop, where the kitchen+bath design area is (and an Airstream and custom wood cabin!).

FLOWERS
Conservatory of Flowers | 415.750.5105 | Conservatory Rd.

The Conservatory of Flowers is a large botanical Victorian greenhouse in Golden Gate Park. It houses over 1,700 plant species, including more than 700 orchids. The conservatory always keeps it fresh by having interesting exhibits like CHOMP! Carnivorous plants. It's a great place to take the kids, the parents, or even a first date. Be sure to also check-out the De Young Museum and Academy of Sciences, which are also in Golden Gate Park.

Eden & Eden is a lifestyle store that sells objects with spunk and a little punk (think neon!). The store's British owner has an amazing eye for all things design. Tee's from Finland, leather bags from London, and a whole lot of other fun items (teacups, vintage sunglasses, wall motifs, porcelain figurines) you'll have a hard time finding in the states. Eden & Eden caters mainly to women, but with it's growing male clientele (typically seeking out the Baroque and mid-century modern furniture), I wouldn't surprised to see a few male tee's in the upcoming months.

B Restaurant & Bar is situated on the upper terrace of the Yerba Buena Gardens. It brings you in with its sleek and sophisticated, all-glass facade, and keeps you there with its yummy staff and menu. The gardens and museums (MoMa, etc) that surround it make for wonderful outdoor eating. Sip their custom and intriguing cocktails while you nibble on some of the best New American cuisine in San Francisco, all while scooping out the incredible views (and people watching!).

MARKET
Ferry Building Marketplace | 415.693.0996 | 1 Ferry Building

San Francisco's Ferry building houses more than just transportation. It's also home to one of the country's most vibrant farmer's markets and a slew of locally owned businesses. Most of the businesses have store fronts within the building, so you can pick up a loaf of Acme bread and some Ciao Bella Gelato before heading out on a ferry or taking a walk along the piers. It also houses The Slanted Door, one of San Francisco's most treasured Vietnamese restaurants.
