Denver may not be known as the mecca of design, but there are a handful of individuals looking to at least get it on the map. This could be seen at the recent opening for CO-Design: a showcase of Colorado designers, where the work of young talent such as DoubleButter, INV/ALT, Ryan Wither and Housefish was on display.
DoubleButter debuted their new line of steel indoor/outdoor furniture with interchangeable fabric covers. Also new at the show were INV/ALT's Magnetic Cups. Angela's Snap Cups were a bit hit at the designboom mart during ICFF; in her latest version the embedded magnet allows you to stick the ceramic cups to the fridge, your espresso machine and to one another.
Ryan Wither, one of the creators of Tivi jewelry, also has his own line of furniture which includes these metal hallway cabinets. In the designer's own words the pieces act as,"... filters as you enter your home. One will hold your bag, the other your mail, and the third your garments.". Housefish exhibited several well-made cabinets and sideboards utilizing the increasingly popular wedge hardware. The show runs at the P Design Gallery in Denver through August 25th.
