+ Katsuhiro Miyamoto & Associates' Clover House in Nishinomiya, Hyogo Japan @ noticias arquitectura. "Three loft alcoves on the ground level are private bedrooms. It means that the relationship between the shape of three clusters in the basement and of bedrooms on the ground level are reversed as negatives and positives.".


+ Jean Nouvel's SKiN sofa for Molteni is lighter than it appears, "The seating is suspended and the decorative elements become structural, making it surprisingly comfortable, original and delicate.". Via noticiasarquitecturablog.


+ Philippe Starck's Veiled watch for Fossil, "the crystal display is specially electroplated to mimic the breaks in the bracelet, and the sides of the case continue the effect with carefully etched details for design continuity.". Via designboom.


+ Normal Studio's Diamond Boxes lighting collection inspired by common photography lights (click on Francais>Objets). Via RESETDESIGN.


+ Peter Buning's SHA-DO-lamp, a wall lamp that projects an ornate shadow all around it, "The projection goes up to three meters in diameter and is adjustable in size and direction.". Via DESIGNSPOTTER.


+ Francesco Cappuccio's Louis XXI table won first prize at the Verona Fiere – Centro servizi distretto del Mobile. The table is great for filing newspapers and magazines. Via trucdesign.com.


+ Terence Woon's A Living Structure light, one of seven finalists in the 2007 Lightouch Design Competition. Via Core77.


+ Arnaud Lapierre's Le Contact side plate/key project, a "porcelain plate/tabletop to hold these items [money, watch, glasses, keys] and a red transparent key that, when placed over the decoration on the plate, reveals a hidden city map printed on the plate.". Via design*sponge.


+ Pierre Foulonneau redefines the vase with Vase Clos, "Twisting, adding, substracting, piece by piece... in constant change from a completely closed and hermetic shape... to a multi-leveled vase.". Via trucdesign.com.


+ Bulthaup's system b3 slatted extractor hood, a triangular design that offers more headroom and slats that close flat when not in use. Via Appliancist.


+ Cat Mckee's Tap Light, "a wall light you turn on and off with a tap" @ Dezeen.

+ The Tong Lamp DIY lamp @ TreeHugger, "grab a pile of discarded wood scraps or plastic pieces and a compact fluorescent bulb, and you're halfway there.".

The finalists last week attended three day workshop to make the prototype of their project and now they are exhibited at Space Furniture (Space Furniture, Level 2 Millenia Walk, 9 Raffles Boulevard, Singapore)

A total of 939 entries were received for the 2007 competition. Entries came from 53 countries, with the highest number of submissions from China, Singapore and USA.

Organised by DesignSingapore Council in partnership with FLOS and supported by Space Furniture, Temasek Polytechnic and National Univeristy of Singapore, the Lightouch Design competition is an international competition seeking innovative lighting solutions that are functional, adaptable, modular and scalable.
