Marcia Harvey Isaksson is Beckmans design student whose polished work varies from stoneware to furniture to textiles. Isaksson’s Glide is a bed on wheels that can be slid along the attached storage unit, simplifying reconfiguration, especially in a complicated space. While this is an example of Isaksson’s smooth and sleek work, her stoneware displays a warmer, cosier side. Born in Zimbabwe, Isaksson left behind a career as an accountant to embrace her design philosophy of “make life better!”
