Paul Loebach’s new Yee-Ha collection of furniture and wallcoverings exploits the wealth of design inspiration from decorative references, melding iconography with new manufacturing techniques. The Mirror, Mirror designs were produced to show an effective use of planning in terms of cutting down waste by using one piece of wood twice. The damask wallpaper is rife with oil rigs and pistol-packing cowboys, surrounded by football helmets, similar to the design in the Chippenchair. The Gunshot Mirror has pieces of glass that were indeed shot at, illustrating how something beautiful can come of destruction. Loebach’s work is striking on more than one level.
