The publishers' blurb says it well; "homeowners search continuously for ways in which to rework existing residential space for improved size, comfort, functionality and financial gain.". I'm in the midst of a functionality rework myself with some existing space, ie., finding ways to squeeze more out of a modest entryway, so this is a timely find. I also couldn't agree more with "an architect must possess significant skill to create such extraordinary extensions and renovations to suit an existing structure", especially with a limited budget (and they usually are). The book features projects that range from simple room additions to complete demolition and rebuild jobs, and has project descriptions, drawings and before & after photographs that explain the thinking and the process. Hardcover, 344 pages, well illustrated, $40.80 at Amazon.
