This Week at Art MoCo
Emi Avora’s paintings are too rich and opulent for a Monday, but there’s no harm in starting the week in high style. Don’t fight luxury, especially when it is as good as Avora’s work.
Seonna Hong’s trouble-prone little girls were more representative of a weekday, but the soft palette and embroidery make the danger a little easier to take.
Subodh Gupta’s metal sculptures that use pots and jugs are impressive symbols of the ordinary. And ordinary does not mean unimportant.
Matthias Meyer’s water theme is anything but blue. Cool, but not always calming, Meyer’s paintings refresh.
And we end the week with a round of ice creams, à la Jennifer Davis. SM
