Tell us something about yourself that most of your design colleagues would never guess...
I was a Girl Guide for nine years. I was in it for the cookie wings on my hat and the camping. Amrita Takhar
I still work on the same 7- year- old laptop that needs wheels to transport. It’s as heavy as a concrete slab. Until it resigns I’m using it’s every bit and bite. In fact, the decline is starting…. a hinge is off, so it will never close again, and the screen is held up by a lattice of objects to keep it level. Hey, but it still rocks! Cynthia Hathaway
I am very good at table tennis. Monica Förster
I (Mike Giles) cannot read analogue time, and for some reason instead of figuring it out I prefer to surround myself in digital displays (I have over 20 digital watches) I think it’s because I work at 100 miles an hour all the time and digital displays offer instant feedback….. One thing that most people don't know about Devin is that he has a twin sister. From time to time, if he’s having difficulty with something he’s working on he will run it past her for a fresh perspective, he says it helps him most of the time because she knows what people are like and she knows him all to well. Mike Giles and Devin Barrette
I find great inspiration in a pile of trash on the street. The combinations in color, form, and texture are endless. Victor Vetterlein
I'm a creative guy, ideas are flowing constantly and they burden my mind too much. So to me furniture design is exactly like sport to eliminate weight surplus. I always feel much better when an idea is developed and marketed, It's like a relief, I feel much lighter. And the sad part is: I have hundreds of ideas collecting dust in my drawers and hardisks, it's kind of ridiculous how counter-productive it is, and then I work overnight to .... eliminate surplus ideas. Alain Berteau
I am a fine artist and the only true secrets I have are hidden in my work. Jessica Albarn
During school days I was raising ants. I started with one impregnated queen ant – but they became more and more... so I released them into the freedom of nature. Ants and all the other Insects fascinated me since my childhood and today again I study their shapes and the microcosm surrounding them. Daniel Rohr
