Didn't Naoto Fukasawa do a pebble cell phone recently? Or is there more to this..
This is a fantastic idea. Besides the original intent, I can see this product as a way of cataloging classic literature or intellectual debate/philosophy or political events with commentary. I imagine a large bowl or tray of pebbles (like in the link) on a coffee or side table with head phones sitting next to it, and someone can fish through them at their leisure to listen.
