We went to the Mission section of San Francisco today and met with Daniel Goldstein at his artist studio/home to see TV2ART Lightascope. To be honest we weren't quite sure what to expect, we'd seen a few TV screen art projects and it appeared this was simply another. The difference a live demo will make. It was fascinating, especially in the dark, see the video below for more. There are three versions of the screen, each one of them with a unique pattern; in essence dots, lines and curves (the screen is held in place using nanotechnology, micro suction cup tape). With the TV2ART DVD playing behind the screen the light is constantly changing, creating new shapes and changing color. It's brilliant as ambient entertainment but quite captivating head on as well. Daniel explains the concept in the video above.

Love the dots! Makes me want a tv.
Very COOL! I've never seen anything like it.
I prefer the Pixelator project (http://www.jasoneppink.com/pixelator/) (minus the accompanying techno music in the video).
