Designer Arnaud Lapierre designed this over the headboard light as part of his ENSCI design school graduation project. Essentially a mirror with a light source beneath it, the user adjusts the amount of light and as the light diminishes the thermochromic mirrored surface becomes progressively more reflective. One of many simple and elegant designs in a relatively large portfolio that also includes La Désinvolture, a wardrobe door with integrated coat hooks that appear when opened, Mill, an ergonomic pepper mill and Sens, an alarm clock for the visually impaired. More after the jump.

Le Regard light, the user adjusts the amount of light by tilting the mirror back and forth, as the light diminishes the mirrored surface becomes more reflective.

La Désinvolture, a wardrobe door with integrated coat hooks that appear when opened.

Mill, an ergonomic pepper mill.

Sens, an alarm clock for the visually impaired.

This is design! Ingenuity and practicality that go together in an elegant form!
