Niina Mahlberg’s glass jewelry is both delicate, due to the fragile nature of the clear glass, and strong, in terms of the volume of the pieces. Her colorful glass rings in greens and blues caught our eye, so we needed to see more. We were not disappointed. The Cell bracelet is gorgeous! Massive, yet feminine, while screaming danger. Other bracelets that we love are the Dewdrop (above), which looks like spun sugar precipitation and the Nests are delightful wire baskets that each hold a chunk of glass, again feminine, with substance. Also worth noting is that Mahlberg rolls her own bead, using traditional techniques. SM
