Colwyn Griffith creates elaborate installations out of processed food products such as gum, cereal, sugar, cotton candy and meat and then photographs them to ensure they last forever for his I Can’t Believe It’s Not Empire series. Shown above is a partial view of Graceland.
However, fast food is not always forever and even Colwyn Griffith will admit to this. His Reclamation series of photos shows former drive-thrus and their ilk in a state of abandonment or if lucky, put to good use by new owners.
We went on to a more nature-friendly set of photos by Justine Kurland. Much more natural.
But then Laurie Simmons helped mix things up a little, but objects with human legs will have that effect every time.
Simmons also has a knack for interior design, specializing in a unique blend of cut-and-paste, using DIY templates and catalogue models. SM
