Butterfly wings started off the week at Art MoCo, in large quantities. Bad boy Damien Hirst must have been one of those kids that pulled the wings off insects, a habit not yet grown out of. However, he does put them to use in his amazing rose window paintings, using the paint as adhesive.

Lori Precious is another artist who works in this medium, creating a variety of mandalas. Her work depicting deceased Hollywood starlets is also quite striking, if unusual.

Most of Ariel Orozco’s thought-provoking photography makes one do a double take …

...but certainly not as much as his soccer ball dog does.

Some people like to talk about the weather, but Rosemary Laing goes ahead and creates it. Her latest series of photographs speaks of a changing global climate. SM
