Is it synchronicity? On the train from Montreal to Toronto to attend the IDS show I strike up a conversation with the person in the seat beside me, Daniel Rochon of Arte Fo, also on his way to IDS. Daniel is a distributor for EcoSmart and other contemporary fireplaces. We discuss the finer points of flue-less fireplaces and contemporary styles by the Dutch, Swiss, Germans, Brits and Americans. A good education in UL, ULC and EPA. Then, last night, I tour the show floor during the launch party and there are MoCo fireplaces everywhere (more to follow). These shows are often dominated by an impromptu theme, ICFF is often lighting, this year IDS is fireplaces. It must be because it's cold up here.

For those who are interested, after my unfortunate Cybershot-MacBook experience, these photos are being taken with my new Canon HV10 (thanks Ryan!). So far the MacBook likes the Canon. We'll be trying out the video shortly.
