Choosing MoCo favorites was a challenge, but having to review a year’s worth of fantastic design was indeed a pleasurable task. The pieces that I kept on my list were those that I keep looking for under the tree … SM

The Shoplifter tote bag @ MoCo Shop by Citizen:Citizen made me laugh and kept me smiling. What a brilliant in-your-face consumer concept.

The Bibliochaise is a bibliophile’s dream come true, like a little island of books to escape to.

Stuart Haygarth’s colorful creations are so pleasing to the eye that the ideas of recycling and reusing become secondary.

Lily Yung first caught my eye with her die cut series of jewelry and wall hangings, but the prodigious output of designs throughout the year kept me hooked.

And Anya Kivarkis seduced me with jewelry that mixed old with new. The soft colors and barely shiny surfaces, combined with the tiny chandeliers, are the elements that pulled me right in.
And my favorite interview had to be that with the awfully irreverent Stefan Boublil from the Apartment who makes me laugh. I discovered this ability a couple of years ago when he threatened, via theaptblog, to come over to my house and kill me if I bought a Prada cellphone charm…

the bibliochaise is simply wonderful, but emphasis is on function not form... lets talk about form.. after all isn't design an intersection of society, form, and function?
Great picks! I completely forgot about the Bibliochaise- such a great find.
I made a bibliochase for my class and it's AWESOME! Very functional, and the kids really want to read in it!
