This week's MoCo picks.

+ The Apartment launches a magazine, theaptlife, in both Flash and PDF. "We basically arrived at two choices: start a cult which tends to be pretty expensive, preach-heavy and probably ultimately unsatisfying (except for the ATF agents.) or start a magazine in which we would ask some of the extraordinary people that we've met in the past few years to tell us about their aptLives. that seemed like the better choice.".

+ Designer/ architect Christoph Seyferth's new house @ culiblog. "The house designed by architect/designer Seyferth is truly beautiful and almost, nearly, barely, just about to be finished.".

+ Jonas Lindvall's sliding Sidobord sideboard. Via Hemfeber.

+ Check out Lindvall's other "Projects" (see above for example).

+ Michele De Lucchi hand-carved wooden model @ Dezeen, "wooden models of imaginary houses from his Walls & Heroic Sculptures series, which the Italian architect/designer describes as “experimental architectural studies”.".

+ Miami Art Basel Artist Beach Towels @ Cool Hunting, "artist-designed beach towels ($50) are for those who want to wrap themselves in art. Featuring works by Alex Katz, Marilyn Minter, Richard Phillips and Rob Pruitt (pictured above from L-R), the towels are gigantic (measuring 60"x70"), soft and the colors look great in terry cloth.".

+ Also from Miami, Hella Jongerius Layers' Bedstee, "like a room within a room, almost like a child's multi-functional bunk bed, but beautifully crafted from blond wood and heavily embroidered cloth" @ Cool Hunting.

+ There's a hi-res video of the V&A's Volume installation here. Via W-M-M-N-A.

+ Daan Roosegaarde talks about Dune 4.0 @ W-M-M-N-A, "an interactive landscape which physically changes its appearance in accordance to human presence.".

Won't sites like this please punish designers -- like Cristoph Seyferth -- who have completely unusable and unfriendly web sites?

Please. Please. Please.

Or, at the very least, post a warning. This site has some interesting pictures of likely interesting work, but the web site was designed by someone who hates people.

Is it wrong that I am in love with that wine bottle/glass combo? I'd be turned off by it in a restaurant or high-end venue, but it's picnic-perfect for a lunch at the Lake.

As for websites with poor navigation or overall user-unfriendliness, I suppose a general warning (i.e. "this site will resize your browser" or "beware the constantly scrolling images") could be helpful, but on the other hand, we're all fairly aware that people have... interesting... views on how to make a website now, and no one should be too miffed when they encounter a page that is utterly impossible to deal with, has abysmal load times, etc. It's a shame sometimes, but something is usually better than nothing.

Hey! This wine bottle with its own glass is pretty cool! It's refreshing to see designers come up with user-centric solutions to an industry challenge. Now that the increasing rarity of cork forces producers and wine lovers to become open to new paradigms about one of the most traditional product there ever was, we are seeing new, interesting stuff. Thanks for bringing it to us!
