Small Kitchens
by Harry / November 19, 2006

Small kitchen, it’s all I want for Christmas, no not the book, one of the kitchens in the book for yours truly. “In Small Kitchens, ideas and inspirations for contemporary kitchen design are offered, which are representative of a limited use area [which is what we got] for today’s residential requirements [lest we build out]. Recognized designers and architects as well as renowned manufacturers show that it is entirely possible to unite functionality and aesthetics and to transfer these concepts to a small use area.”. Not this year says the taxman, so on second thought, the book will do nicely. 192 pages, well illustrated, $10.19 at Amazon.

Wooaow, I didn't know kitchens could be THAT small !!!
Come on, this title is plain ridiculous, don't buy this book, it's really bad publicity for designers (at least for designers who still have a sense of scale).

Well, as I see it, there are people in the world who don't even imagine there is something called "third world", where whole houses are as big as many of 1st world kitchens. I live in Mexico, and here, some houses are about 50 square meters. And a whole family lives in there. They have the right for getting a nice kitchen too.

I'm not a designer, so it's difficult for me to get past impressively sized kitchen (extortionately priced) examples in show rooms and magazines. My kitchen is 3.30m by 1.84m I live in London with my husband and daughter in a flat - some of us need to see the possibilities.
