This week's MoCo picks.

storm from the east interviews clubtable designer J.P. Meulendijks, "Being a famous designer, designing for DROOG doesn't mean that you walk around in a suit & tie and the money comes rolling in.". See Meulendijks, his Clubtable at Dutch Design Week @ decor8...

... also at DDW, Margriet Foolen's Nold pottery @ decor8, "earthenware bowls designed for a single portion inspired by the slow-cooking rõmertopf... you do not need to use oil or butter to prepare your food, allowing the vitamins and minerals to remain".

Jerwood Applied Arts Prize @ WhipUp, "an annual competition that runs on a six year cycle, encompassing Metal, Jewellery, Ceramics, Glass, Textiles and Furniture disciplines.".

Danish designer Lene Toni Kjeld's wallpaper collection "consisting of 8 patterns transitioning from one to another so that pieces can be cut out with two patterns overlapping" @ design*sponge.

 Tejo Remy's leafy cut-out pop-out shelves. Via pan-dan.

Groninger Museum's Studio Job and "a selection of Oriental applied art" show @ designws.com. "Chinese and Japanese porcelain, lacquer-work, wood carving, and several objects carved in ivory from the collection of the Groninger Museum form a surprising combination with the modern and distinctive design of Studio Job.".

PingMag's Tokyo Design Week 2006 report, "I must say that altogether everything seemed much quieter than last year… Nevertheless - TOKYO DESIGN WEEK is always worth checking out, especially because things turned out a little different this year...".

... and their Treasured Trash: Designing tumblers to avoid petbottles report.

Apartment Therapy Good Question: A Satisfying Shelter Magazine? "My ideal house magazine should have an article about a fascinating artist/designer/environmentalist/architect. It should have some practical advice about how to make or fix or care for something. Of course it has to have pictures of a beautiful house, and it should be a house that you can actually imagine someone living in. (Conran's books have that virtue - those rooms clearly belong to real people.) It should have some book reviews. It should have an advice columnist (house advice). And a regular before/after article." + 72 comments.

Baroque canvas furnishings by Constantin Boym at Moss @ Core77.

TeeJay covers the Vancouver Home & Interior Design Show featuring Sari Maani's Coffee Table, new seating by Brent Comber and Chocorex stone lighting.

Fisher & Paykel's “Gas in Glass” Luna cooktop, "features trivets and a gas burner that rise and lower through the glass cooktop. Unlike conventional gas cooktops, it gives the user an easy clean surface as well as the convenience of a flat working area when not in use.". Via Appliancist.

Rowenta's Shockabsorber vacuum won't damage your furniture even if you try. Via Le journal de l'électroménager (both in french).

 Bang & Olufsen's lightweight aluminum Earset 2 @ Acquire.
