TDW DesignTide 2006: Stuart Haygarth
by Harry / October 31, 2006

Artist-designer Stuart Haygarth was showing a 1.5 meter wide Tide Chandelier made of plastic debris. “The original Tide chandelier is part of a larger body of work based on the collection of ' man made' debris washed up on a specific stretch of Kent coastline. I have been collecting material over many years and the work is still in progress. The material collected is sorted and categorized and several individual pieces of work were produced.".

Interesting! At the Hotel Atlantis, in the Bahamas, there are a couple of glass structure that look somewhat like this. All though the entire hôtel tends to be on the baroque side, but if you ever have a chance to go and see it (I wouldn't go there just for that!), but it's worth a short detour.
