Chocolace
by / October 17, 2006

Inspired by Ander Kant lace pattern concrete tiles, food designer Katja Gruijters has created edible tiles in sugar, shortbread, génoise and chocolate (see above). They will be shown at Addictlab’s Chocolate Lab Expo, held during Dutch Design Week. The lace tiles are available in pure milk and white chocolate and are real-tile sized – they’re made to be chipped on a kitchen board with a special tool (that you presumably buy when you buy the tile).

Someone likes their MACRO setting!

The real questions is, how does it taste? If it looks like a tile and chips like a tile, lets hope it doesn't taste like a tile.

I believe I saw several of those tiles on display a few months back when I went to the Museum of Art & Design in NYC, when they had their Radical Lace exhibit. Fantastic stuff!
