Portemanteau, Sewingworkshop
Designer Marina Bautier’s solid Oak Portemanteau (coatrack in french) is not only for coats, it can also hold your mail, there’s a slot behind the hooks for it. For the crafty set, her Sewingworkshop is a mod take on the ubiquitous and anonymous sewing desk, in fact it’s inside-out, what is normally hidden away is out in the open. Thread spools are hung on the side of the desk and a ruler is inlaid on the top edge. When not in use, slide the drawer and spools back under the desk.

I'm a tailor and this is the most impractical sewing station I've ever seen! Where are your knees supposed to go when the drawer is shut? There should also be more length of table to the left to support the excess fabric that's entering the machine. Putting a ruler on the edge of the table is nothing new either, stores have been selling adhesive measuring tapes for this very purpose for decades. Beautiful design means nothing if there is no function.
