Wallet 2.0
Got this in the mail today. Wallet 2.0 is not your average wallet, it’s “the wallet from the future”, the Web 2.0 future it appears. Unlike other new concept wallets we’ve seen, this one is made of soft silicone and can bend. Basically a flip top container, it contains organizer/planner-like “refill sheets” designed for use with the wallet. There are five types of refill sheets - bill, coins, ID, credit cards and “other” - there are more sheets on the way. What do you think? Leave a comment.

In a word: Naw...
Looks cool. Being made of soft silicone, can it slide into one's pocket very well?
A solution looking for a problem maybe?
so very!
The problem continues to be the credit card, that doesnt bend at all...
i don't much care for the blurb on the bills sheet.
Is it easy to rifle through? Would I have to take everything out to find what I'm looking for? Do the coins stay put? Does the flip top stay closed?
Still, looks intriguing and might not wear out.
Interesting concept. Excellent branding... maybe to the point where the marketing is better than the actual product, all though developing the product itself is a function of marketing. Are customers going to fall for it... time will tell. In marketing lingo, we would call it "a better mouse trap".
Design is fundamentally a value creation (see my blog on this subject!) process. However, one of the key components of value is that it has to be relevant to the recipient. The old marketing principle of "First find a need, then fill it." must be respected. Notice the sentence is "FIRST find a need...", not the other way around. Thank you MocoLoco for bringing it to us!
It would really annoy me to have to open the wallet, take the transparent envelope out and still have to open it to take some money out... i will be having too many things in my hands!
why coins?
anyway, as i see it, the most obnoxious thing about a wallet is sitting on it and this looks like it would be really uncomfortable to sit on.
Looks to much like an imac, need to dull the colors, leather has been a respected wallet for so long, both for it's sexiness as a material and it's sleekness in colors. Also one of the issues with a wallet is it not being to fat, this thing is already an inch deep without anything in it...., i also be afraid that over due time that the mouth opening would degrade and rip, plastics and rubbers don't have much life in the light. I did like the organization idea, though i am not sure how much time i would give myself to open it and look for my id.
It's so cute, but is it convenient to use ?
One thing good is that it doesn't look like a wallet. Like said above it is too big, and it is constituted of too many items.
I think it reminds me the corporate world too much (filers)!
I don't even carry a wallet anyways!
I have a serious wallet problem: my cards always snap. Either I have a bank that produces som cheap plastic, or I have some problems with my sitting technique.
I just ordered a wallet from Freitag, which I hope will provide a bit more protection than the one I have now. I'd like to see one of these in person... it look a little bulky in the photo.
It is a combination of this Memo pad by Moleskine and one of these PocketMods. I've been using this combination for a long time and it is totally satisfying me. It is hardcover so no need to worry about breaking your credit card. It opens on the long side, to me an advantage. It is more open to changes of organisation. Just try it.
Isn't this just a pocket protector from NASA? Marketing is not even innovative. 2.0?
Very nice concept but it seems a little bit uncomfortable, specially in the opening part. Anyone has tried it?
There probably should be a special refill sheet for storing condoms
I just got my Wallet 2.0 in the mail. It takes a hell of a long time to ship. In all, though, I think it's worth it. Sitting on it is pretty uncomfortable with the change tab in. Without the change tab, sitting is just like any other wallet. I keep mine in my front pocket, though, so I keep the change tab in. It sticks a little taking it out of a pocket, but that's worth it when it doesn't flop around in looser fitting pants.
I've only been using it for two days, but I haven't really had any problems with convenience, although I typically put coins in my pocket for a while so I'm not holding up everyone behind me in line. Also, I don't like that the billfold tab is clear. I might color mine black. I don't like people seeing me pull out a zip-lock of cash every time I wanna buy a slice.
i open my old brown leather wallet. all my cards are in their respective slots (easy to grab the one i want. billfold on the top. simple.
why would i want to pry open, pull out an insert, unzip said insert, and pull out contents, then reverse?
cute solution that solves nothing.
Oh boy, another product aching to be snapped up by the tragically cool.
1) Way too big.
2) Silicone? Please. Don't I have enough problems with my leather wallet making my butt sweaty?
3) Most idealistic people aren't broke. Most stupid looking to define themselves by products should be. (BTW am I the only one who didn't know what the hell "skint" meant...don't lie)
Gotta go. Need to finish my glass of wine (bought with money obtained from my $1.00 leather wallet) with my girlfriend (who has a $10.00 wallet).
Great organizer, but it just looks too bulky. Maybe if I carried a purse, but I couldn't imagine putting it in my pocket.
where I can buy that in France ? or on Internet please ?
Don't buy this just yet.. the opening rips in a matter of days, and there seems to be no return e mails from the company.. will wait and see if they ever return my mail..
they finally returned my e mail, and asked for a pic. (maybe they read this site).
But, now it's been a week since I have heard from them. Terrible customer service IMO. We will wait and see..
Well, haven't heard from them in 2 weeks. I have sent 3 e mails since last week, and nadda, nothing; not even a courteous "on vacation back in 3 days (if that were even the case) -- nothing!
I have never experience such terrible customer service (except on e bay at the odd time), and such an unsatisfactory product. I have to chalk this up as a loss; but @ least I am warning potential buyers...
Oh, well..
hello!
where can i buy the Wallet 2.0 in Argentina? or Brazil?
Wow. A wallet for the impossible person: A geek who is also a retard.
I got my Wallet 2.0 last week --
I love the design concept, but here are my problems with it:
The change pocket isn't make from a plastic that is stretchy, so you can't put too much change in there while still being able to seal it.
The wallet is a pain to use because it requires a big of maneuvering to keep the top flap open while pulling out a tab.
It's not as easy as it looks to slide out the front tab through the hole.
I doesn't hold as much as you would think for its size.
I suppose there's a reason the design of a wallet hasn't changed much since its creation. So, I'll find another use for mine.. Maybe to organize coupons. I still like the idea, though.
