+ James sent us his Flickr photo set of one of Frank Gehry's latest buildings, the Hotel Marqués De Riscal situated in the middle of a winery in Spain. Currently under construction, it’s due to be completed by year’s end. Thanks James!

Sigh... I don't want to be, but I am. I'm bored with Frank. I've been in about 7 of his buildings now, and I'm just unable to grasp the point anymore. I'm not a pure "form follows function" type person by nature, but I wouldn't mind if the skin had something to do with the spaces within.
That being said, I hated the Millenium Park bandshell here in Chicago, and I still don't feel that it's appropriate for this city, but damn, it does sound good in there.
Good post, JW!
I agree with you about Gehry. When you've been around long enough, it gets easier to spot the art & design that will simply cease to engage you years later. Also your observation about the bandshell was spot on! At least in this application, the configuration made perfect sense for it's use, as you stated.
Architectural showmanship & celebrity will go by the boards. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Art
I have seen the building in Spain and it's amazing. Today is the openning. It is an Starwood group hotel - luxury collection -.
