You may have seen Monster at THAW, but we’ve now got a closer look at designer Adriean Koleric’s floor lamp. Says Adriean; “Monster came about during the time I became heavily into the Urban Vinyl / Designer Toy culture. From this love for the genre, I wanted to take the same feel from that and transfer it into the furniture design scene.”. The most successful vinyl toys allow for customization thanks to their simple shape, and because they’ve been personalized, users become more attached to the object. Monster is this simple character that can be manipulated, and to prove the point Koleric has asked animator Motomichi Nakamura to mod his Monster (we're already in line to see that one).

Nice images Adriean! Lamp looks great.

When i read your description of the process you made, i like the result...but if the product has to stand for it self the identity and character is feiling...god is in the detail & Semiotics! But a good concept..Greets
Thanks Gringo,
I agree the piece can stand on it's own as it is. But one of my main objectives from the start was to create an opportunity to work alongside those in the vinyl scene that i've admired for awhile and see where it leads.
I've always been a fan of different design facets collaborating on one project.
