JADE is a residential NYC real estate project with Starck cie Yoo just off of Union Square in Chelsea. It’s also Jade Jagger, who lends her name and signature style to the project. Although the collaboration isn’t new, the design elements for this project are; Spanish and Moroccan influences for the rooftop terraces and minimalist service cubes called Pods for the apartments. It’s the pods that got our attention, set in the center of each apartment, they house a kitchen, bathroom and wardrobe, all behind doors that can conceal when required.

...wow! What a perfect combination of design, utility, and location.
I just love it!
That's the future of housing, mixing simple prefabricated parts with clean design
Anyone know who designed & where to buy those red dining room chairs?
where can I get that bed?
Ah, Philippe Stark! It seems that everything he touches is special. I was fortunate enough to stay in the Hudson Hotel in New York City in 2002. The entire hotel is an experience in itself. Rooms are designed for what they are made for: sleeping, showering and keeping my traveling gear. Very optimal use of NYC scarce square footage, yet elegant. Beautiful and intelligent use of various materials: modern and some rustic. This is what good design is all about: creating value through proper thinking.
The red chairs are the Ponti 969, designed by Gio Ponti in 1969 (duh!) for the Italian manufacturer Montina, a company which specializes in the use of wood. The lacquer is a relatively new finish for the chair, and a cool camo inspired version is also available. Be sure to check out Montina's site, as they have a ton of great pieces.

I wonder who made the bath/kitchen pod units. Does anyone know?
