Joshua Wentz continues his NeoCon report, this time with a focus on textiles. “There were actually quite a few striking new wallcoverings and textiles shown at NeoCon this year. And apparently, orange is still very much in.”. Carnegie's Street/Sport Line, Luna's Urban Couture and Tord Boontje' pixelated flowers - contract is staid no more. Joshua's images and info after the jump.

1. Carnegie's Street/Sport Line
The promo material for Carnegie's Street & Sport upholstery collection reads "Take it to the extreme. Street & Sport captures the graphic energy and fashion ethos of riders, boarders, skaters. A powerful collection of visual reference points, mixed with a touch of graffiti, rock, goth, sport & fashion.". I think this line ends up leaning decidedly more to the 'corporate' than the 'skate punk' side of the spectrum, but I could see a lot of applications where this would be quite nice.

2. Luna
Luna was a pretty hot topic on the floor, because they chose to show their new reversible textile line "Urban Couture" as a series of very attractive messenger bags that everyone wanted to get their hands on. Some very classy, upscale stuff with a mod edge and contemporary color schemes.

3. Maharam
Cream of the textile crop was found at Maharam's showroom. Known to collaborate with the likes of Bruce Mau and Paul Smith, they really had a diverse upscale showing of incredible artistic patterns and styles. 'Layers' (above) is a new line by Hella Jongerius features overlapping wool and complex stitching with rough, decayed patterning. 'Nectar' by Tord Boontje (below) was really striking. Laser cut, pixelated flowers- a very warm, ephemeral look.

4. Wolf Gordon
Wolf Gordon had a very diverse new set of wallcoverings at economical price points. Along with crushed crystal patterning and incredibly dense creature-collages was 'Light' by Corrine Ulmann and Isamu Kandu. Light (above) intends to suggest windows in areas where natural light is rare, and takes on strikingly different characters based on the amount of ambient or artificial light in a space. The patterning was a little on the tight side, in my opinion, but I admit it looked great.

There should be more info in the category maybe?
