Free Range 2006
by / June 6, 2006

During June and July, the UK’s top art and design colleges showcase student degree work in 55 exhibitions, all of them at the 11-acre Old Truman Brewery in London. The shows come under the banner of Free Range, which is Europe's largest showcase for student art and design. Starting with this week, every week there is a new selection of shows offering cutting edge art, design and photography. Above, a selection from Week 1, on the left Lucie Gledhill’s jewellery uses book binding techniques to form snake like necklaces that curl and twist, forming moveable sculptures, a soon-to-identified sculpture in the middle and on the right Alexander Holmes’s cheeky ‘Screw You’ lamp made with a hand drill.
