Light As Air
Designer Paul Cocksedge has a limited edition light sculpture series he's about to launch called Light As Air. Per Cocksedge ,"The heart of the concept is blowing air to create form.". Instead of blowing glass, a technique he's used, Cocksedge concentrated his efforts on blowing plastic. The unique plastic forms don't have the texture or form of blown glass, in fact they look as if they've been created on a potter’s wheel with a super high gloss finish. An LED is concealed within each sculpture, the light emanates from the inside and only out through the opening at the top, and is programmed to convey the light as ‘breath’ as it fades from on to off.
