Ingo Maurer and his team has created several new lighting objects and the interior lighting for the Atomium, "a structure that is half way between sculpture and architecture, symbolising a crystallised molecule of iron by the scale of its atoms, magnified 150 thousand million times.". Built for the 1958 International Exhibition in Brussels, the building wasn't intended to survive beyond the exhibition. It's been closed for renovation since 2003 and reopened this week.
