House Plus, Imaginative Ideas for Extending Your Home, is about house additions. I haven't seen this one, but if the cover is any indication, there's probably a good dose of contemporary style in this book (but not as much as this book). House Plus draws upon "a variety of original buildings and examples from around the world that reflect a wide spectrum of materials, styles, contexts and influences, some sixty projects provide a rich source of ideas and information.". There are five chapters, each with two or three detailed studies; 1) 'Above' for attic and loft conversions, 2) 'Below' for basement and semi-subterranean levels, 3) 'Beside' for side and lateral extensions, 4) 'Behind' for back extensions and conservatories, and 5) 'Around' for any combination of the four preceding. Hardcover, 272 pages, 300 color images, $29.70 at Amazon.
