Designer Mark Moskovitz’s rubber-coated Writer’s Cabin is chock full of his own designs for objects destined for everyday living, but created either from re-used materials, or meant for more than one use. A fly swatter is made from a leather wallet, numbers three and nine on a wall clock can be removed to be used as chopsticks. Moskovitz provides new takes on common housewares we take for granted. Glassware is weighted down by cheap concrete to give them more weight, which often imparts a sense of luxury. The dresser is really a metal surface upon which to store clothes that have magnets sewn into them. The entire cabin (complete with mechanical songbirds) is covered in rubber for waterproofing. Cabin, though compact, overflows with great ideas, great designs and a healthy sense of humour. More at Art MoCo. Thanks Mark!
