No doubt one of the best parts of CA Boom is their Home Tours. Here are two houses on the tour(s) this year; the Kozely / Farmer Residence by SANT Architects and the 3-in-1 House by architect Roger Sherman. The 3-in-1 House is as its name implies, multifunctional, the goal was to make it "affordable through a series of design strategies whose aim is to more compactly but creatively accommodate the ordinary residential program, in order to allocate and preserve a sufficient portion of the budget to create of strong overall architectural statement and experience.". Make a bold statement and keep it affordable. More subtle is the stucco clad Kozely / Farmer Residence, a modestly sized and low-slung house of less than 1700 square feet that's both minimal and comfortable.
